Last Updated: 28 March 2025 · Effective: 28 March 2025
These terms govern your use of the Pallworth website and describe the basis on which we provide legal services. Please read them carefully. By using this website or engaging our services, you indicate that you have read and understood these terms.

- Use the website in any way that violates applicable Malaysian law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems
- Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised promotional material

- Use automated tools to scrape, index, or harvest content from this website
We reserve the right to restrict access to the website at any time without notice.
3. Website Content and Legal Advice
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Legal matters are highly fact-specific, and the information on this site may not reflect the most current legal developments.
Submitting an enquiry through our website does not create a solicitor-client relationship. A professional engagement is established only through a formal engagement letter signed by both parties.
If you have a specific legal concern, we encourage you to contact us directly so that we can discuss your situation appropriately.
4. Our Legal Services
When we agree to provide legal services, the scope, fee arrangements, and any applicable terms will be set out in a separate engagement letter or retainer agreement. Those documents should be read alongside these terms. In the event of any conflict, the engagement letter will take precedence.
We are entitled to decline or cease acting for any client where professional obligations, conflicts of interest, or ethical requirements make it necessary to do so. In such cases, we will provide reasonable notice and assist with an orderly transition where appropriate.
We provide legal services in Malaysia and our advice is given in the context of Malaysian law only. We do not advise on the laws of other jurisdictions unless expressly agreed and confirmed in writing.
5. Fees and Payment
Fees for legal services are set out in our engagement letter. The indicative prices shown on this website represent starting reference points for the relevant service areas and are subject to the specific scope, complexity, and circumstances of each engagement.
Invoices are payable within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Where payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to pause work on the matter until the account is settled, and to charge interest on overdue amounts at a rate consistent with applicable law.
We may require a retainer or advance payment before commencing certain engagements. Details will be confirmed in the engagement letter.
6. Confidentiality
We owe a duty of confidentiality to our clients and take this obligation seriously. Information shared with us in the course of an engagement will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, except where required or permitted by law, including our obligations under Malaysia's Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).
Please note that email communication carries inherent security limitations. Whilst we take reasonable steps to protect communications, we cannot provide absolute assurance of the security of emails sent to or from our office.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, design elements, and structure, is the property of Pallworth or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Work product created by Pallworth in the course of a client engagement — including advice letters, documents, and research — is produced for that client's use within the scope of the relevant engagement. Unless otherwise agreed, Pallworth retains the underlying intellectual property in methodologies, precedents, and general know-how.
You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute any content from this website without our prior written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Pallworth's liability arising from any engagement or from use of this website is limited to direct losses and does not extend to indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
Our liability for any specific engagement will not exceed the amount of fees paid by the client for the relevant matter, except in cases of fraud, wilful default, or where limitation is not permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or for any form of liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Third-Party Websites
This website may contain links to external websites for reference or convenience. These links do not indicate endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites. You access third-party websites at your own discretion.
10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we encourage you to raise the matter with us directly in the first instance. We are committed to addressing concerns thoughtfully and in a timely manner.
If a dispute cannot be resolved through direct discussion, the parties agree to consider mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings. These terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia shall have jurisdiction.
Clients also have recourse to the Malaysian Bar's complaints mechanisms in matters relating to professional conduct.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any revisions will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. Continued use of the website following a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
